Common conclusions
Placing it somewhere above will reduce the cleaning period as it won’t be getting many dust particles compared to when it's placed on the floor.
Before anything else, you should make sure that there are no wirings attached to it. Placed it in a well-ventilated area for cleaning.
Slowly open your CPU, and if you haven’t tried doing it before, you can check how to properly do it on your PC manual or try searching online for guides.
If you don’t have a cleaning brush, you can use a cotton swab or a cleaning cloth and wipe the parts where it needs cleaning.
Use a can of compressed air to blow the sets on the fan. Hold it with your fingers to prevent it from spinning, or simply remove the fan and clean it thoroughly.
Use isopropyl alcohol to wipe away the thermal grease. Less consecrated alcohol also works, but it may leave a residue.
You can use a zip tie to tuck in all the wires inside and declutter it to save space.
Properly put back all the cable wires to their proper places. Also, don’t forget to put back all the peripherals removed into their appropriate sockets.
If your PC is placed on the ground or near a place where dust can enter, it is recommended to clean your CPU twice or thrice a year.
If your PC is placed on a higher surface where specks of dust can’t easily enter, yearly intervals will do.
