Do you give your bird plenty of exercises?
Do you feed your bird with a varied diet?
Do you socialize with your bird often?
Have you been teaching your bird fun tricks?
Did you provide it with an appropriately big cage and toys for him to play with?
In the wild, birds get all the exercise that they need by flying, foraging for food, and keeping themselves safe from predators. In captivity, it can be challenging to provide adequate exercise unless you make a concerted effort to do so. Offering your bird a few creative exercise outlets will keep it in good physical condition, and mentally stimulated, and happy.
feeding your pet bird fresh foods like fruits and vegetables in addition to commercially produced seed and pellet mixes will ensure proper nutrition and vitamin intake. Additionally, the very act of introducing new foods to your bird will cause excitement and mental stimulation.
Taking time to socialize and bond with any pet is important, but with non-domesticated animals like exotic birds, it is essential. Be sure to set aside a minimum of 3 - 4 hours per day to handle and play with your bird in order to produce a happy and well-adjusted pet.
Teaching your bird to perform a few fun bird tricks will increase the bird's general level of happiness. You should also keep your training sessions short, fun, and consistent.
Good job! You have done all you can to make your bird happy.
It is very important to do everything you can to make sure that your bird is entertained during the times that you are unable to play with it. Choosing interesting and appropriate bird toys and cage accessories is an important part of keeping your bird happy on a day to day basis.
