Based on your answers it is unlikely that you have vascular dementia. Vascular dementia is a medical condition characterized by the decline in thinking skills caused by reduced blood flow to the brain. Inadequate blood flow to the brain will damage brain cells causing various changes in the brain tissue. The changes in thinking skills can occur suddenly, such as after a stroke, or develop gradually over time, just like Alzheimer's disease dementia. In fact, in a large number of cases, vascular dementia and Alzheimer's disease occur together. Vascular dementia is also known as “vascular cognitive impairment”. It is rare in people under the age of 65.
Based on your answers there is a possibility that you have vascular dementia. Vascular dementia is a medical condition that refers to a progressive loss of cognitive functions due to an injury or disease of blood vessels in the brain. The brain cells need a constant supply of oxygen and nutrients to work properly. If the blood vessels in the brain are damaged in any way, the brain cells will be left without nutrients and will eventually die, which will further cause problems with memory, thinking or reasoning.Vascular dementia is the second most common type of dementia. Diagnosing is based on a neurocognitive testing and an MRI.
Based on your answers there is a high possibility that you have vascular dementia. Vascular dementia is a condition usually caused by a stroke or some other type of blood vessel injury in the brain, which causes changes in memory, thinking and behavior. The symptoms will vary depending on the affected area in the brain. Some people may have memory problems, while others may have difficulty organizing and solving complex problems. People with this type of dementia often feel irritable or depressed. There is no cure for this condition, but the symptoms can be managed with medications. However, the brain damage that has already occurred cannot be reversed.

Hi! I’m Jelena Radovanovic. After earning my Phd in General Medicine from the Medical University of Nis, I began a career as a physician in order to pursue my passion for medical science and help treat the people around me. I joined the Medical Center in Nis in 2010 where I gained practical knowledge in real-time situations. In addition to my primary job as a General Practitioner, I’ve worked with nonprofits to help underprivileged patients by providing them with information, services, and assistance.
