Common conclusions

Based on your answers it is unlikely that you are nearsighted. Myopia or nearsightedness is a medical condition associated with impaired vision. People with myopia can clearly see an object nearby, but a more distant object appears blurred. Myopia occurs in people with an eyeball longer than normal or with an irregularly curved cornea. In these cases, the light that enters the eye cannot be precisely refracted on the retina. Instead, the eye focuses light in front of the retina, making distant objects look blurry. For that reason, myopia is known as a refractive error. Nearsightedness may develop gradually or suddenly. It often runs in families.

Based on your answers there is a possibility that you are nearsighted. Myopia or nearsightedness is the most common eye disorder in people under the age of 40. It refers to impaired vision, which is characterized by clear vision of close objects while distant objects look blurry. This means that you don’t have vision problems while using a computer, but reading road signs will be a challenging task for you. Nearsightedness usually begins in childhood. In some people, it stabilizes in early adulthood, while in others it continues to progress with age. Diagnosing is based on an eye examination including an eye health examination and a refraction assessment.

Based on your answers there is a high possibility that you are nearsighted. Myopia or nearsightedness is a very common eye disorder that affects about 30 percent of people in the U.S. People who suffer from nearsightedness have blurred vision when they look at distant objects. People with myopia often have headaches due to eyestrain. They also squint a lot to see more clearly. Myopia treatment involves wearing eyeglasses, contact lenses, or refractive surgery. Some people will need to wear eyeglasses all the time, while others only on certain occasions when they need very clear distant vision (e.g. when driving or watching a movie).
