Common conclusions

Based on your answers it is unlikely that you have bronchiolitis. Bronchiolitis is a viral lung infection that affects the smallest airways in your lungs known as bronchioles. The main airways in your lung called bronchi branch into smaller passageways. The smallest ones that lead to petite air sacs (alveoli) are known as bronchioles. Bronchiolitis is often caused by the respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), but other viruses, including those that cause the common cold or the flu can be the cause of bronchiolitis. It is common in children younger than 2 years, and newborns younger than 3 months of age have the highest risk.

Based on your answers there is a possibility that you have bronchiolitis. Bronchiolitis is an infection of your lungs caused by a virus. It affects the smallest airways of the lungs called bronchioles. The bronchioles become inflamed and swelled due to infection. Mucus accumulates in the bronchioles, which prevents the unimpeded flow of air through the lungs. The virus that causes bronchiolitis can be easily spread by airborne droplets when coughing and sneezing, or by touching contaminated objects such as utensils, towels or toys. A diagnosis is based on your symptoms and physical examination. Sometimes, your doctor may request a chest X-ray, viral testing or blood tests.

Based on your answers there is a high possibility that you have bronchiolitis. Bronchiolitis is a viral infection of your lungs, usually caused by the respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). Typically, bronchiolitis affects infants in the first months of their life because their immune system is not yet completely developed and their small airways can be easily blocked. The symptoms are similar to those of the common cold, and most children get better with supportive care at home. Bronchiolitis usually resolves within two to three weeks. It occurs more often during the winter. In some cases, bronchiolitis can cause serious symptoms and must be treated in a hospital.
