Common conclusions

Based on your answers it is unlikely that you have astigmatism. Astigmatism is a condition in which there are imperfections in parts of your eye called the cornea or lens. Ideally, the cornea and lens are curved equally in all directions. For that reason, your eye is able to focus light on a single point on the retina, allowing you to see clearly. However, when the cornea or lens is not evenly curved, your eye cannot refract light properly, leading to vision problems. People with astigmatism have blurred distance and near vision. Astigmatism is also known as a refractive error of the eye.

Based on your answers there is a possibility that you have astigmatism. Astigmatism is a common vision problem caused by the irregular shape of two parts of the eye called the cornea and lens. When you have an imperfectly curved cornea, you have corneal astigmatism, and when you have an irregularly shaped lens, you have lenticular astigmatism. In both cases, people with astigmatism have blurred or distorted vision for both near and far objects. Astigmatism often occurs along with other vision problems such as nearsightedness and farsightedness. People are often born with astigmatism. A diagnosis is based on a comprehensive eye examination.

Based on your answers there is a high possibility that you have astigmatism. Astigmatism is a condition caused by a flaw in the way your eye refracts light due to the uneven curvature of parts of the eye called the cornea and lens. It is unclear why people have differently shaped corneas or lenses, but in many cases astigmatism is inherited. Also, astigmatism can develop fallowing eye disease, injury or surgery. Astigmatism is caused by an error in the anatomy of your eye, so you cannot prevent it, but it can be easily and successfully treated. Astigmatism can be corrected with eyeglasses, contact lenses or surgery.
