Common conclusions
Creating and developing a YouTube channel is not a menial task and it requires planning as well as motivation as in the initial stages you might not get even a thousand views for months. So, it is imperative to have a strong motivation which will help you get past the initial stage and not get burned out.
As you may know, most channels have some core idea which they delve in each video. One such example is LinusTechTips and the host only talks about hardware related to computer building and such. So, make sure you are dead set on a core subject you want the channel to be based around.
As not every person will be interested in your channel, you have to research about the targetted audience and make sure to stylize the videos and channel to cater to their interests.
Every successful channel has a unique selling point, one such example being a youtuber who visits new fast food joints as the first customer, or a tech v-logger who get his/her hands on any piece of tech/information first. It is not imperative to have a unique selling point but it is recommended.
As you start, you might be feeling good about making videos on a daily basis but can you make sure that the same schedule is followed for six months or more. It is better to set a good schedule and pre-record videos if you have the time.
As most channels require the host to come on live and speak, a good quality camera and mic are required and a green screen and some other accessories may also be needed so make sure you have such items or at least the budget.
As you start, it will be impossible to get more than a thousand views even after six months if you have not properly advertised your channel. Blogs, social media or such platforms can help you get viewers so build a strategy and if possible, set aside a marketing budget.
As you will be rendering videos and uploading them on a regular basis, a stable internet connection will be required.
Before starting a channel, many things have to be kept in mind as if not, all your work could go down the drain.
