Common conclusions

The first step in taking care of any animal is to make sure you do not have any health problems as an allergy to feathers could in most cases be a minor headache, flu and sneezing but in extreme cases could lead to respiratory problems. So, before getting a parrot/s, make sure you are not allergic to them.

For a large parrot/s, the cage size should be at-least 5-ft length x 6-ft height x 3½-ft width and for smaller parrots, a minimum size of 24-inch for length, width and height should be used.

Perches are very important to have inside the cage and should be of varying lengths and widths as they can be used for standing, climbing, playing, rubbing, cleaning beaks, chewing and for entertainment so make sure you fit multiple perches of good quality.

Parrots also have a certain level of intelligence and they sometimes require toys to keep themselves entertained and the toys should be chew-able and not rock hard that may damage their beak.

Separate bowls/trays should be used for water and food as some feed gets soggy and goes bad if it gets wet and the parrots will not eat it and it is better with 2 as it is cleaner.

Parrots are social creatures who need to be placed where you normally are present as they can develop separation anxiety which might lead to their demise.

It is better to leave your bird in a closed off room while leaving as your other pets might harm it or annoy it. Make sure the cage is properly locked as cats/dogs might somehow open the cage.

It is better to clean it regularly as food left could rot and there might be some smell after not cleaning the cage regularly.

To keep a parrot healthy, many things have to be taken into account such as the temperature of the room should be between 65 to 85 degrees-f and the feed should include various seeds. Another thing to remember is to socialize with your parrot by taking it out of the cage after it has settled in the cage and give it treats while training it.
