Common conclusions

Jasmine is a plant that needs to be rootbound to produce blooms. You just need to be patient until your plants' roots grow large enough.

Too much nitrogen fertilizer will direct energy to grow foliage and take away from the blooms that are forming. Try fertilization with a low, or even no-nitrogen plant food. Phosphorus heavy plant food often jolts plants into bloom.

Good air circulation is necessary for the good health of jasmine plants. Healthy plants are more likely to bloom than those that are in need. Keep this plant near open windows or near a fan that helps circulate the air.

Jasmine needs a minimum of four hours of sunlight to flower properly. Expose the plant to at least 14 hours of artificial light or place it near a window for bright, indirect sunlight.

Because of their extensive growth, you should prune jasmine just after flowering ceases. If you cut away stems before flowering, your jasmine will not have the buds necessary for blossom development.

Jasmine must have a well-drained soil site for proper flowering. If the roots remain in compacted and soggy soil, they cannot absorb the necessary nutrients and moisture for potential blossoms. Use potting mix for container jasmines, garden soil does not drain effectively in a confined space.

To produce winter blossoms, indoor blooming jasmine must have a period of rest in the fall. During this time, nights should be dark so make sure to place your jasmine somewhere without artificial lighting.
