Are you having an invalid device error while uploading the code?

Are you having a serial port in use error?

Common conclusions

The problem could be with the power supply you are using or the cable or in most extreme scenarios the Arduino may have been burnt out and damaged. First change the cable and check if the power supply is working. If nothing works, you should get a replacement.

First check the cable and if the Arduino is turning ON. If yes, the problem may be with the software in your computer. Go to hardware settings and reinstall the driver or download the driver from the internet and install and try again.

Check if the cable is plugged in, the correct port/device selected for export and the code is error free.

Try to reload the code after making sure that the power supply is working properly as sometimes a sketchy power supply fluctuates the board. Also make sure that the code you are uploading is within the range of the memory of the board.

Wait for a few seconds after starting the board as it takes some time for the boot loader to work. If still not working, make sure the board is not receiving serial data as soon as it starts. If you require this function, give a little delay between the receiving of input and giving output.

Check if you have selected the correct device from the option for the code to export to. Select the proper device and try again.

This may be due to your computer using the comport you are using to export. Close all software that may be using the port, including the serial monitor.
