Most common questions used to investigate

Is the temperature in your surrounding/area really high?

Has the Air Conditioner been turned ON for quite a while?

Check the coolant tank near the radiator. Is the level of the liquid below the optimum level?

Check the radiator's tank. Is there water/coolant present in the tank?

Is the temperature gauge rising while you are stuck/stopped in traffic?

Check the radiators head. Is it locked in place properly?

Common conclusions

The external temperature also affects the car's temperature. If the temperature is high, cool down the engine by opening the engine cover and stoping for a while.

The AC keeps the engine under constant stress which after a period of time adds up and the engine can't take it any more. It is best to turn the AC off as this could lead to more damage to the car.

The coolant revolves around the engine/radiator to cool the car. If the coolant is low in level, the engine will not cool properly.

The radiator's tank has water/coolant in it which allows the heat to transfer from the engine to the water and keep the temperature controlled.

Rev the engine a little after shifting into neutral as this would make the fan speed up, cooling the engine. This might happen some time without any cause.

Tighten it properly as coolant might have been leaking through and air going in which may have heated up the engine.

Get your car checked if the problem persists as the cause could be leak in the coolant or something else.
