The first step to checking if your car needs an oil change is to look towards the engine/oil change light on your dashboard. Is it turned ON or blinking continuously?

This indicator will only illuminate when the level of oil in the vehicle is close to the bottom. If this warning is ignored, your car may be at risk of getting damaged due to lack of lubrication between the parts inside the engine.
It is better to change the oil as most cars are required to have their oil changed after every 3000 miles or 3 months. New vehicles usually require an oil change after 6000 miles or 6 months. It is better to check the guidlines regarding your car.
This is also one of the signs of bad oil or low oil. It is better to get your car checked and the oil refilled.
